The three confirmed zones

Ordered by how far through the player base each one gets. Every figure below is read from the Roblox badges API, so it is a fact about the player base rather than a claim about difficulty.

T-Rex

SPHINX

MAMOTH

Read the drop from T-Rex to MAMOTH as a funnel. Roughly half of everyone holding any badge has the first one, about one in six has the second, and the third sits under one percent. That shape is the most useful piece of progression data in the game, and it arrived free with the badge endpoint rather than from anything the developer wrote down.

The Welcome! badge is excluded on purpose. It is granted on join rather than for clearing anything, so it would sit at 100% and flatten the whole curve if it were presented as a zone.

What a boss gate means for your route

Each zone's badge is named "Defeat zone", which reads as a gate you have to beat rather than a race you have to win. The official description separates the two activities — you train to gain speed, and you win races to earn eggs — so treat the gate and the race as different jobs that happen to share the same thing: your speed. The gate usually wants more of it than the race does, because the gate does not come with a course rival you can pace yourself against.

Practically, that produces a rhythm worth planning around. You push your speed until the gate opens, and while you are doing that you are not carrying eggs, so your income comes from pets rather than from race wins. Once the gate is open, the races inside that zone become the efficient egg source and you switch from training to carrying. Entering a zone early and losing races there is the worst of both: no eggs, and no speed gained.

The planner makes that switch explicit rather than a judgement call. Give it your bare speed, your measured carry penalty and the rival speed for the course you want, and the verdict tells you which half of the rhythm you are in.

How the races themselves work

The official description is short on race mechanics and we will not fill the gaps with guesses. What it does state is that you win races to earn eggs, and that Roblox Plus members get +10% Cash. From that, three things are safe to say: races are the egg source rather than the Cash source, winning is the condition that matters rather than a finishing time, and Cash comes from your pets.

The one rule that changes how you should approach every race is the carry penalty. Because you race while carrying, you should expect to lose courses you could finish comfortably empty-handed, and you should expect the penalty to differ between eggs. Measure it for the egg you actually race with rather than assuming a single global figure, and re-measure after a rebirth, because the speed a penalty takes off changes when the number it applies to changes.

Not published, and therefore not stated here: race entry requirements, prize tables, the number of racers in a lobby, whether races are timed or position-based, and any per-egg carry penalty. If a guide gives you those as numbers, it is guessing.

What we cannot tell you about zones

The single most requested number for this game is the speed each zone needs, and it does not exist publicly. We have checked the game page, the games API, the badges API and the group page. None of them carry a speed threshold, a carry penalty, or a zone table of any kind. So the column stays empty rather than becoming a plausible-looking guess that gets copied around.

What replaces it is a measurement you can take yourself in about ten minutes: pick the course, race it once empty-handed and once carrying, and bracket the rival between your bare and carried speeds. That is a real number about the real course you are actually racing, which is more than a table of invented thresholds would give you.

Race for Eggs races and zones: common questions

How many zones does Race for Eggs have?

Three zones are confirmed by the game's own badges: T-Rex, SPHINX and MAMOTH. There may be more that carry no badge, and we would rather say we do not know than pad the list with names we cannot evidence.

What does a badge clear rate actually tell me?

It tells you what share of players who hold any badge got that far — 48% for T-Rex falling to 0.6% for MAMOTH. It is a survival curve through the player base, not a difficulty score, and it says nothing about the speed required.

Why can I win a course empty-handed but lose it carrying an egg?

Because carrying an egg slows you down. The race is run with the egg in your hands, so the speed that counts is your carried speed. The Race Carry Planner is built entirely around that gap and will tell you how many training minutes would close it.

Are the zones races or boss fights?

The badges are named "Defeat <zone>", which reads as a boss or gate rather than a straight race, and the official description talks about winning races to earn eggs. We describe the gate and the race separately rather than assuming they are the same encounter, because the game does not spell that out.
